A few words from Derrick

It is a great honour to be your Captain for 2024. I have now been a member of DDGC for nearly five years. Prior to this, I was a member of Stowe Golf Club for over 20 years. During my tenure at Stowe I was Captain in 2006 and 2007.  I hope I can bring the knowledge and experience of those two years to my captaincy at DDGC.

I have informed the Committee that I can only serve as Captain until the end of October 2024. The reason for this is I am travelling with my wife to visit my daughter who works and lives in Australia. We are then travelling to New Zealand to visit my son who works and lives there. I anticipate we will be away for at least four months.

At the AGM, I announced that I will write to all members with a Captain’s Bulletin. It will be called ‘Out  of Bounds’. The purpose of this bulletin is to keep you all informed of what the Committee is discussing, planning or implementing. I will also include notice of any upcoming functions.

In return for keeping you all informed, I will place a suggestion box in the main foyer. This will allow any member to forward any idea they may have for improving the Club. I will endeavour to reply to anyone who forwards an idea.

The first ‘Out of Bounds’ will come out towards the end of April.

A few words from Sara

It is an honour to be your Lady Captain for the 2024 season. I've been a member of DDGC for over fifteen years. I hope to encourage more lady golfers to join Daventry GC over the new season.

We have many competitions already scheduled in the diary, together with the monthly supper evenings, this is an ideal way for new members to join in and have fun playing golf.

The Ladies charity for this year will be for Air Ambulance a truly worthy cause and one which we hope to raise funds to support their efforts.
